Hello, We Are Finding FruGALity

Launched in 2018 as a community for creative self-doers, thrifty families, and recipe enthusiasts, this site is a growing collective of frugal finders from all around the world.

If you love cooking/baking, family adventures, and creating something from nothing all while being as frugal as possible in the process, you’ll feel right at home here. I'm going to share my recipes, my family adventures and fun up-cycled and cost-effective projects that help save my family money while also satiating my homemaker and career aspirations - with a bit of life and love sprinkled in. I have just about 10 years of experience at being married and juggling motherhood as well as a few years of really honing in on baking, building and maintaining frugality, but I'm still learning too, and plan to share what this family discovers along the way! I started this blog because I have received many questions, many praises and many "oh I couldn't do that"s, so I wanted to share with everyone HOW I do it, WHY I do it and show you that you CAN TOO! I found myself trying to find ways to cut a buck! Everything from cutting back my electric bill to spending less on groceries! I am fed up with this cash funnel I allowed myself to be victim to! And with that, I found myself with 2 issues 1. Items I needed/wanted whether it be dinner or a decoration and 2.The cost of such a need/want. One week I just did not grocery shop, I was mentally worn out from spending $80 every time I stepped foot in the store on just the "quick items" I needed - I had already stockpiled the on sale chicken, beef and pork and some sides for meals, but I was out of cereal - out of waffle mix and had nothing else for breakfast - so I looked at what I did have and made bagels instead! I saved myself a trip to the store - I was just so frugal with boy my time and money it felt GREAT! I had always found myself wanting the pottery barn decor,  with a dollar store budget - so I took what I could afford and MADE the $300 baby bumper, the 14 person farmhouse table, the napkin rings, the baby blankets, the list is ongoing! AND IT WAS REWARDING making them ourselves! We created memories, we found ourselves more capable than we even knew - being frugal helped me find MYSELF! I AM artistic, I AM smart, I AM your frugal "GAL" - and I'm about to share with you how!

Now let me formally introduce myself - I'm Heather -  a mom of 4 boys, the wife of a modest man, an office manager for a local real estate team, a teacher to my home educated children and a self-proclaimed crafter, baker, farmer, and all around dream chaser! I have BIG ideas and goals to obtain them and by God, I am going to! I love to cook, host family and friends, save money and create instead of buy. I try to maintain a mostly holistic lifestyle - I'm always thinking about the bigger picture as well as appreciating each of the smaller details. I usually approach my tasks with little to no training and that is part of the thrill for me. I enjoy wine tastings, bra-less days and seeing smiles on my kids' faces. My favorite past time is being absolutely ridiculous and carefree with my husband and laughing at ourselves! If you think you can get down with this -- please subscribe below so we can keep in touch and head over to the forum and interact with me and everyone else who wants to be in on our Journey of finding ourselves in our search to be frugal!
